From a Basement on the Hill

I finally got the guts to buy the posthumous release from Elliott Smith. It's definitely worth it. But it still makes me sad.

I refuse to buy it. I'm angry more than sad. why would i want to listen to the sounds made by a soul who indulged in such a selfish act? Do you know - I was sitting next to him at the counter of that one cafe (can't remember the name of it at the moment - but Bridget and Becky worked there and it was/is on Belmont) the moment we all found out that Cobain had blown his brains out?? No one really spoke - but i wonder if he thought that was in some way romantic and cool?

Maybe i'm just in a really extra bad mood today.

Appropriately enough, the Paradox is the name of the cafe.
