I use a DocuColor 2045 everyday, and from my understanding from the service techs, all the color printers/copiers from Xerox do the encoding, and have been for *years*.
that's all well and good. i am not surprised that corporations would cooperate with the government to thwart forgery. the problem is that this is not generally known, there are no safeguards, and apparently, the government has been using the technology to compile data on groups like greenpeace. that's a little scary, no?
